Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical, Energy and Management Engineering (University of Calabria), where he is involved in the activities of the manufacturing group.
He is member of AiTeM (Italian Manufacturing Organization). During his academic path, he was Ph.D student at Unical, Visiting Scholar at Ohio State University, Visiting Researcher at the “Universidad de Zaragoza” and at the “Technische Universität Dortmund” and more experienced researcher at Siemens PLM (Leuven) in the frame of two FP7 MC projects.
At Unical, he works in the field of “numerical modeling” and “bulk forming processes”. More in detail, non-linear simulations are of crucial importance for the carried out studies. In this regard, different commercial codes (i.e. Deform, Altair HyperWorks, Ls-Dyna, Abaqus etc.) have been utilized. Furthermore, his research has been also focused on the study of new materials (metallic foams, lightweight alloys, polymer matrix composites) for their applications in different industrial fields.
